Hudl Sideline is great on its own, but here are a few things you can pair it with to make it even better.

Your Hudl Sideline kit already contains all the hardware you need to get instant replay anywhere on the field, but we have some suggestions on additional accessories to customize your setup and make Sideline the ultimate replay system.

Hudl Sideline works seamlessly with iPads and iPhones, but it’s important that you stick with our supported devices. Unsupported models, such as older devices and those with outdated software, will affect the entire system.

sideline devices

It’s most important that your recording iPad or iPhone meet our requirements. This device controls the entire setup, so using the right model will have the biggest impact on overall performance. On the other hand, viewing devices can include some older Apple models.

Hudl Sideline lives on your iPad or iPhone, giving you plenty of options in terms of screen size. Maybe you prefer the iPhone so you can easily slide it in and out of your pocket while pacing the sideline. But when it comes time to show your players what changes to make, a larger screen comes in handy.

Not sure which camera is best for Hudl Sideline? We’ve done our research. But no matter what model you choose, in order for a camera to work with Hudl Sideline, it must have a live HDMI output. This means the camera can send video and data through an HDMI output as it records. Visit the Hudl Sideline Help Center for camera and end zone systems recommendations.

The season is a long grind. Inevitably, some equipment will break. It’s always good to have extra ethernet cords, HDMI cords and HDMI adapters on hand, because keeping your video stream up and running is crucial. Amazon and B&H are great places to get exactly what you need for whatever setup you’re working with.

Monoprice Mini and Micro HDMI Connector

We don’t provide this HDMI cable in your setup, but you’ll need it to connect your camera to Sideline. If your camera's output is an HDMI Mini or HDMI Micro, we recommend using an HDMI connector instead of an adapter. Click here to purchase a Mini connector, or click here for a Micro connector.

Monoprice Cat6 Ethernet Cable

We include this ethernet cable in your kit, but if you need a longer one or want a backup on hand, find it here.

Studio Assets Tripod

This tripod is included in our Plus and Premium kits. It’s durable, lightweight and extends up to 10 feet. Be sure to add weight near the base on windy days.

AmazonBasics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod

This 60-inch tripod can be used to mount an external camera or an iPad/iPhone with adapters (not included).

Ubiquiti Nanostation Pole Mount

This mount fits perfectly with the bridge and sideline access point, so we included it in your kit. Its U-bolt clamp allows mounts it to most poles and tripods. It’s durable and should last multiple seasons.

Avantree Velcro Straps

Use velcro straps to secure your cables and stay organized all season. They help take the weight of the cable off the camera’s HDMI port. These straps come in a 20-pack and are reusable.

A lot of teams are moving away from the standard video camera, using an iPad to capture their press box view instead. There are cases, lenses and accessories available to make this an easy transition.

A waterproof case is a go-to accessory to protect your iPads. This 100% waterproof case is a reliable option for your iPads.

Movo Extra Long Rain Coat for Cameras

We used this rain coat through downpours and snowy Nebraska weather. No matter the elements, the cameras remained safe and dry. It’s adjustable, fits nearly any camera, and has a plastic see-through window so you won’t miss a moment of the action.

DigitGear Neoprene Cable Sleeve

Grab this sleeve to keep cables organized and dry. We used it during testing to protect the end zone bridge and sideline access point ethernet cables. The padding of the sleeve allows you to close (not latch) the end zone kit lid without pinching or damaging the cables.

Super Heavy Duty Brown Tarp

This tarp is a game-saver when inclement weather is on the horizon. Whenever rain is threatening or the ground is wet, use this tarp for an extra layer of protection.

Coleman Kids 2-person Dome Tent

Place your end zone kit inside this tent during extreme weather conditions. Keep the kit out of harm’s way, and run your end zone bridge and sideline access point out the zipped door to the tripod outside.

Power & Charging

Griffin PowerDock Pro

One of the benefits of an iPad is its great battery life, but having a charging dock for multiple devices in your office will ensure everything is charged and ready for game day.
